Lawrence "Larry" Lester Summerhill passed away on March 12, 2022 after battling liver disease for seven months. He was four days shy of his 82nd birthday. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Beverly; his brothers William, Earl and Paul Summerhill; and his sister Reba Ball; as well as his three children Bruce Summerhill, Tammy Erickson and Tangee Summerhill-Bishop. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death and was reunited with his parents Mina and Tom, his brothers Everett and Dallas Summerhill, and his sister Mildred Markanen.
Larry’s life can be summed up with two words, family and God. Spending time with family was always so special to Larry, which included taking family trips to many destinations, endless nights of playing games and attending his grandchildren's activities. His support was felt through his actions, his words and his prayers.
His relationship with God was evident by his lifetime of devotion, faithfulness and service at Mountain View Christian Center. His yearly missionary banquets have become legendary by his passion for showcasing all those individuals who are on missions near and far.
His Amens will be missed in church, as the Lord has called him home.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2022 with a viewing from 9 to 11 a.m. at Mountain View Christian Center, 2810 NE 259th St., Ridgefield, Washington, 98642. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Greenwood Cemetery, 91569 OR-202, Astoria, Oregon, 97103.
