Leland Paul Heidegger was born Aug. 24, 1952, in Ontario, Oregon, to Albert Heidegger and Dorothy (Blakeman) Heidegger. He passed away March 31, 2026, at his home in La Center, Washington.
Leland lived a life of complicated health problems but wholeheartedly faced working as a logger, farmer, dairyman and large equipment operator. He was a member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church and looked forward to his Sunday sermons. He lived each day with a gentle, thankful heart and had no hesitation in showing his love and kindness to all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Ann, of 32 years; and beloved son, Emmet Micheal.
Also surviving are brothers, Charles (Elaine), Chap (Mary), Ben (Lori) and Wesley (Sarah); sisters, Virginia (Steve Korpela), Vivian (Jay Harvester), Lillian (James Tapani), Edith (Howard Ek), Patricia Heidegger and Ramona (Lorin Lehtola); sister-in-law, Faye Heidegger; brother-in-law, Stanley Uskoski; and stepmother, Shelley Heidegger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Dorothy (Blakeman) Heidegger; brother, Edward Heidegger; and sister, Elizabeth Uskoski.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Old Apostolic Lutheran Church of Lewisville, 32320 NE Lewisville Highway, Battle Ground, Washington, 98604.
