She grew up in a loving home with her parents, Peggy and Ronald Thompson, her sisters, Connie, Wendy and Carol, and brother, Ronnie.

After living in California, the family moved to Battle Ground, Washington, where she spent much of her life. Margie attended Washington State University, graduating in 1978 with a bachelor’s degree in communication and education. She moved back to the Battle Ground area and started her career as a school teacher. She later received her master’s degree in 1981 from the University of Portland. Margie spent almost 40 years teaching and impacting the lives of the students in her classes.

Margie met her husband, Loran, while at Washington State fiUniversity. They married in 1987 and had a fulfilling life together. They had two sons, Bryce and Kevin. The family loved nothing more than watching sports together and cheering on their favorite teams. “Go Cougs!”

Margie is survived by her son, Bryce; daughter-in-law, Carrie; and grandsons, Logan and Carson. She is also survived by her sisters and brother: Connie, Wendy, Carol and Ronnie. She is preceded in death by her husband, Loran; son, Kevin; and her mom, Peggy.

Margie enjoyed making crafts and sharing them with her loved ones. Margie’s friends were important to her and after she retired they took many trips together around the world.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Brookdale in Lewiston and St. Joseph Family Hospice for their amazing care.

A celebration of life will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 7110 NE 294th St., Battle Ground.
