Our dear mother, Rose Evelyn Lillian (Berggren) Kopman, peacefully passed away on May 15, 2025, at the age of 95. Rose was born to Walter and Helen (Kangas) Berggren of Brush Prairie, Washington, on November 1, 1929. She attended Battle Ground schools and graduated in 1948. Upon graduation, she worked in Portland, Oregon, at Montgomery Ward and Farmers Insurance until she met and married Frank Kopman on May 18, 1952. For the first several years of their marriage, they resided in San Rafael, California, as Frank was serving in the U.S. Air Force. Upon returning, they settled in Brush Prairie, Washington, where they proceeded to raise a family. They also built a business, Custom Built Fixtures, where Rose was the bookkeeper. Rose lost her husband to cancer after 25 years of marriage. She continued to work throughout her life while raising her children and became a dedicated caregiver in her later years.
Rose loved spending time in nature, watching the birds and wildlife that frequented her pond and woods. Other interests she enjoyed included gardening, sewing and crafting, and reading. In her later years, she spent countless hours on genealogy. Family always came first and foremost for Rose; they meant the world to her.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Kopman; son, Raymond Kopman; granddaughter, Amanda Cichosz; and siblings: John Berggren (Dee, Kelly), Bob Berggren (Odessa), Helen Griffith (Jack), Marilyn Carr (Bill), Carolyn Baker (Dick) and Gladys Stavass. Rose is survived by her children: Kay Sattler (Kevin), Karl Kopman (Gloria), Karen Kopman, Donna Kopman and Keith Kopman; 19 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Her faith in God was a source of strength for Rose. She lived by example, loved unconditionally and displayed kindness and compassion for all. She will be forever missed. All who knew her, loved her.
A small graveside service for the family will be held at Elim Cemetery in Brush Prairie, Washington, on June 13, 2025 at 11a.m.
