Julio’s Coffee and Breakfast fills missing gap in Battle Ground’s restaurant scene

A new restaurant in Battle Ground has been serving up breakfast and lunch for eager new patrons.

Julio’s Coffee and Breakfast, located at 705 SE First St., features a diverse breakfast menu with omelets to combinations with gravy. For the lunch crowd, the menu includes four types of burgers and three options for a sandwich.

Yadira Cisneros, a resident of Battle Ground and owner of Julio’s Coffee and Breakfast, knew there was a hole to fill in the community’s restaurant scene. Prior to the opening of her mostly breakfast-based restaurant, the community of Battle Ground lacked a dedicated breakfast spot since the pandemic caused the closure of Hockinson Cafe.

The restaurant is named after Cisneros’ husband.

Since Julio’s opened on Jan. 17, they’ve garnered positive feedback from customers, who have shared their takes on the new business on social media, creating a buzz over the new spot.

Cisneros’ favorite part of her new restaurant has been providing customers with the attention they deserve, while receiving many compliments throughout the process, she stated through a translator.

The restaurant is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. everyday with the exception of Thursday.  With a current Google rating of 4.6 out of 5.0 stars, Julio’s Coffee and Breakfast is among the highest rated breakfast-based restaurants in Clark County.

Cisneros and waitress Adriana Garcia, said the three most popular items on the menu are the chilaquiles, country fried steak and the meat lovers omelet. Cisneros’ personal favorite so far has been the French toast.

The menu includes other items like omelets, eggs, specialties featuring Hispanic breakfast items, pancakes and waffles. For a lighter breakfast, oatmeal and toast is available along with 10 choices for a side dish.

The customer favorite chilaquiles, from the Julio’s specialties section, includes fried corn tortillas cooked in a choice of red or green salsa. They are sprinkled with cheese and served with two eggs, carne asada, a slice of avocado and sour cream. With five different omelets to choose from, the one that has been most popular with customers so far has been the meat lovers omelet, which includes bacon, sausage, ham, grilled onions, bell peppers and cheddar cheese. It is served with a choice of hash brown or country potatoes, and the option of an English muffin, biscuit or toast.
