Junior Symphony of Vancouver to host March concert

Youth from the Junior Symphony of Vancouver (JSV) will play a spring concert at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, March 23, at Cascades Presbyterian Church, 9503 NE 86th St., Vancouver. The program will include selections by Carl Friedrich Abel, Georges Bizet and John Rutter.

Attendees may purchase tickets on-site for $15. A reception will be held after the concert.

The JSV was founded by Timoteus Racz, and had its debut concert in December 1999. Since Racz’s passing in 2012, his friend and colleague Collin Heade has taken on the role of JSV conductor, according to the JSV website.

JSV will hold its next auditions on Monday, April 1, by application and appointment only. Applications can be submitted via the JSV website, oregoncham berplayers.org.
