Those looking to see who is running to lead La Center can meet and speak to the City Council hopefuls this week.
Starting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, La Center City Council candidates are invited to attend the city’s farmers market to meet with would-be voters.
Organizers for the market, located in the parking lots at La Center Church at 111 Fifth St., have invited those currently in or seeking a seat on the five-member council. The date also coincides with the market’s classic car “Show-n-Shine.”
Apart from the cars, the weekly farmers market typically has about 20 vendors from local farms and artisans selling their products, a release from the organizers stated. More information is available at lacenterfarmersmarket.com.
