I applaud and thank Rep. Peter Abbarno’s recent op-ed (July 16) for calling attention to our state’s child care issues. I do hope that he and his colleagues will give the same attention and empathy to our state’s Medicaid recipients when they are impacted by a bill that other Washington has passed recently.
Just in case the issue of work requirements (to receive Medicaid) comes up, please share with others that 38% are children and 70% of adults (19-64) who receive Medicaid in our state are already in the workforce. Working age adults with disabilities account for 40%.
