David Rogers was born in Conrad, Montana, on Sept. 11, 194,5 to Charles and Erna Rogers. He went to Conrad High School. He came to Vancouver, WA, when he was 18, because his older brother lived here. He had a couple of jobs before working for Columbia Machine for several years. He went to college after he was 45 and earned a degree in machining. He worked in the maintenance department at Battlegrounds School before starting to work with students with disabilities. His favorite thing to do besides hunting, fishing and camping was to teach Little League Baseball. He started when his son was six and followed him until he was out of high school.
He even started a landscaping business for his son and his son's friends to make money for college. He bought 10 acres and cleared the land with a caterpillar. He cleared the land and built a home. He liked to work on our small farm and kept his fishpond full of trout. He planted several fruit trees that he got at a local auction.
He was a very generous person. We are planning a Celebration of Life once everything is in order.
