If there is any indication that the guardrails are off/non-existent, it is the recent nomination of Mr. Gaetz as attorney general of the United States. Timely, too, as an ethics report is just about to be released into his conduct. What defines Mr. Gaetz is not his poor (never practiced), legal abilities but his well-known skill to be loyal. Of course, this will be a requirement for all appointees in the new administration, but instead of kissing the King’s ring, this means kissing the former president’s … posterior when required.
