First, let me say that any form of political violence is abhorrent, which I personally attribute to the cause of the attack on National Guardsmen in D.C.
The President's rant on social media about immigration was typical of all his posts. Which is the politics of fear masquerading as a need for a new policy or personal revenge on his enemies. I did not believe most of what he said because: 1. It is social media, 2. It is President DJT, 3. The President often lies and then repeats those lies because he thinks you will eventually believe him.
The President, and his MAGA partisans, seem to believe that immigration (along with the Democratic Party) is the current number one problem in America. It is true that immigration law/policy needs to change, but I believe a true “American” immigration policy would be lawful and would not need a secret army prone to violence or cruelty to enforce.
We also know that most Americans currently think something else has greater priority. Many years ago, a political pundit once said, “It’s the economy, stupid!” I do not think anyone is stupid, this is more like common sense.
