Letter to the editor: Lobbing insults over opposing views only divides people

Posted

The other day, my husband and I were driving north on I-5, and standing on the Pioneer exit overpass in Ridgefield was a man holding a sign to the cars that said, “F/U Biden Supporters.” The only message I saw was that our society has reached the lowest point ever. We cannot even have a political disagreement without one side insulting the other. I don’t care what your political ideology is, that type of behavior serves no purpose other than to create further division. Sir, grow up. From what I could tell as I was driving by, you were a grown man, not a middle school boy. Learn to have conversations rather than throwing out insults to people you don’t know who may have a different view than yours. Only then will you actually get people to listen to you.
