Letter to the editor: Second Amendment Protects Hunting, Self-Defense Traditions

Posted

I think Americans should have the right to own guns. My reasons for this include hunting and self-defense. I think Americans should have this right, and if not, that would be a terrible turn for our country. I am thankful that I have this right in the Second Amendment of the Constitution. I am a hunter. My dad and I hunt. My dad and I bond over hunting, and it is a special thing for us. I would like to see more Americans hunt because it is a life-changing challenge and adventure. Hunting provides a good, well-appreciated food source.

Guns are an important part of my hunting adventures. I think these rights should not be taken away so Americans can hunt in the future. Americans should have the ability to defend themselves with guns because I think this is important. We should be able to defend ourselves from any threats from wild bears, cougars, wolves, or coyotes. I highly appreciate the ability to bear arms in this amazing country. If this gets taken away, it would be devastating to the people of this country.
