I am troubled.
I have seen repeated calls on Facebook and other social media for prayers for Charlie Kirk’s family at this tragic and challenging time.
One church posted a prayer request for his family on their announcement screen at the start of their worship service.
This does not trouble me. We should be praying for those that we know are hurting.
What does trouble me is the lack of any prayer request for the family of the killer. Can you imagine being the father or mother, brother or sister of the person accused of such a terrible deed?
As Kirk’s family, they are also facing a tragic and challenging time. I have yet to see a single prayer request for them. Do we only pray for those we like or agree with when they are struggling? See Jesus’ words in Matthew 5:43-47.
