Regarding Jordan Slach's wish for a living wage, once a mandatory living wage is established.
Bottom line, Congress, a city council, or the formula they choose decides what counts as “need.”
You don’t get a vote on your personal definition.
No bigger house. No new car. No vacations.
Just their standardized basket of basics — locked in by law or algorithm.
That’s the trade-off of a mandated living wage:
Perpetual dependence on government. A mandated living wage does zip to improve one's standing. It only interferes with private business and your ability to advance. As with anything that people want the government to do for them that they should be doing for themselves.
