Letter to the editor: Where is MGP amid ICE violence?

Posted

This is not business as usual.

These times require bold action, whatever the political composition of our congressional district.

Without prompt congressional intervention, ill-trained ICE officials, along with other federal agents rashly borrowed for ICE duties for "service" within our communities, will continue to wreak havoc, causing unnecessary pain and injury to otherwise law-abiding, hard-working residents who may be the "wrong color" and to any others who bravely choose to exercise their constitutional rights by videotaping agents or loudly warning neighbors of the arrival of those agents.

When is enough enough?

What will motivate Rep. Marie Glusenkamp Perez to use her voice and her faith to push back against this unmitigated reign of terror? Why the timidity? What explains the utter failure of courage and principles?

How many residents must die before the actions of these federal agents are meaningfully curtailed?
