Local realtor to host garage sale to benefit the Maui Strong Fund

Local Realtor Amy Graeff will be hosting a sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30 at her Ridgefield home, 1115 S. 44th Ave., to benefit the Maui Strong Fund for Lahaina residents.

All proceeds from the sale will go to the fund, which is providing financial resources to support the immediate and long-term recovery needs for the residents and businesses affected by the Maui wildfires. As of Sept. 8, the fund, administered through the Hawaii Community Foundation, has generated $110,547,485 for those in need.

“I am organizing this fundraising effort because I have visited the Hawaiian islands throughout my life,” stated Graeff in a press release. “I have always felt a special connection with the land and its people. My wife also spent many summers on Maui with her family, which is why it was the perfect place for us to tie the knot.”

In 2018, the couple married at mile marker 12.5 south of Lahaina with a reception held at

Fleetwoods on Front Street.

“We are heartbroken by the fires that devastated much of Lahaina, and we want to do what we can to help,” added Graeff in the release.

The Graeff Group asks local residents to donate women’s, men’s and children’s designer clothing and upscale baby items for the fundraising garage sale. Donations will be accepted through Wednesday, Sept. 27. Throughout the day of the fundraiser, raffle tickets will be sold, with winning prizes donated by local Ridgefield businesses. Hawaiian-style shaved ice will also be for sale.
