Man charged with second-degree murder accused of killing his wife

A Clark County man faces a murder charge after he told emergency response personnel he killed his wife, according to the sheriff’s office.

At about 11:15 a.m. on June 28, deputies from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance call at 19400 Northwest 61st Avenue, a news release from the office stated.

A man identified as Wayne Leonetti, 72, had called 911 “to report he had just killed his wife.”

Leonetti stated he “choked her” and said his wife was not breathing, the release stated.

Deputies encountered Leonetti outside of his home. He was initially uncooperative, according to the release. After a short standoff, Leonetti was detained.

Deputies entering the home found a lifeless woman, identified as Alice Bolen, 80, on the floor, the release stated. After multiple agencies rendered medical aid, she was declared dead at the scene.

No one else was in the residence when police were on scene, the release stated.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office Majors Crimes Unit is investigating the case, according to the release. Leonetti was arrested for second-degree murder.

Leonetti was booked into the Clark County Jail and had his first appearance in Clark County Superior Court on June 29. He is currently in jail and has a bail hearing scheduled for July 6, according to jail records.
