The Manor Grange has been a staple of the community, situated at the intersection of Northeast 72nd Avenue and Northeast 179th Avenue.
Since being built in the 1950s, the building itself has not received many repairs, which has led the managers of the grange to host a bingo night and fundraiser raffle on Friday, Nov. 14, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The Manor Grange consistently hosts family gatherings, weddings, markets and bazaars, and more. The members of the grange hall are even in the process of establishing a community garden on site.
Jeanne Ellis, Manor Grange member, highlighted the community involvement of the building and its members. The grange hall is host to clothing and food drives, disaster preparedness classes, and more, as well as a toy drive that begins on December 13, she said.
The grange hall members are currently in the process of installing new gutters, a new front gate, and a new sign after a drunk driver crashed through it, Ellis said. The Manor Grange has a fundraising goal of over $4,000 for the Nov. 14 bingo night fundraiser.
She said the money will be used towards repairing the entryway walls, floors, windows, and installing a new front door. Additionally, the ceilings both upstairs and downstairs are in need of replacement, as well as the kitchen, which needs to be expanded into a certified commercial kitchen to accommodate a new variety of events, Ellis said. She added that the parking lot is also in desperate need of repairs.
The raffle during bingo night will include dozens of baskets. Basket themes range from a Labubu doll basket, a new coach purse, gardening, Dutch Bros. coffee, and more.
The Manor Grange is located at 17901 NE 72nd Ave. in Battle Ground.
