The WSU Extension Master Gardener program of Clark County is hosting a workshop on growing and arranging cut flowers year-round from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 23 at 78th Street Heritage Farm, 1919 N.E. 78th St., Vancouver. Master Gardener and professional florist Jayne DiMarco will speak about planning a cut-flower garden. The workshop includes details on selecting and caring for flowers appropriate for arranging and information on how to select flowers that bloom around the same time. Participants will visit the on-site cut flower demo garden and make a hand bouquet to take home. Participants are advised to bring a pair of snips and a vase/mason jar to fill. They should dress for the weather and bring water. The event will include standing and walking on uneven ground.
