A missing dementia patient who wandered from a Longview facility was located over the weekend.
The unnamed man walked away from a memory care facility on Third Avenue, prompting Cowlitz County Search and Rescue to help Longview police in the search, the nonprofit announced Sunday.
He was safely returned Saturday night to the facility where he lives after a Longview police officer found him, according to the volunteer organization.
While Cowlitz County Search and Rescue often hold searches in the wilderness, like Gifford Pinchot National Forest, they are also called to assist in urban searches, the announcement states.
