A national coffee stand chain with no current locations in the Pacific Northwest has submitted plans to the city of Battle Ground.
Associated plans and documents necessary for a pre-application conference were submitted to Battle Ground staff by 7 Brew Coffee at the end of August. No pre-application conference has been scheduled with Battle Ground as staff continues to review plans, with the review phases slated to be completed on Friday, Sept. 11.
7 Brew is proposing its Battle Ground location at 805 West Main St. in the vicinity of Thirst Trap Soda Shack.
As of press time, a project narrative and site plans were unavailable.
7 Brew Coffee is a rapidly expanding drive-thru beverage chain that was founded in 2017 in northwestern Arkansas.
The company has grown from its original stand to more than 700 locations across 38 states, according to the company. Of those 38 states, the closest with a 7 Brew location include Utah, Montana and Arizona. There are currently no locations in Washington, Oregon or California.
7 Brew’s website says its stands serve more than 1 million drinks per day and employ more than 45,000 Brew Crew members.
Its stands typically feature double drive-thru lanes, with the company emphasizing quick service and highly customizable beverages. The menu extends beyond coffee to include energy drinks, teas, smoothies and shakes, with the company advertising more than 20,000 possible drink combinations through different flavors and customizations.
The chain's rapid expansion has made it a growing competitor in the drive-thru beverage market alongside established brands such as Dutch Bros, which typically do not offer restaurant-style seating.
A Battle Ground location would add another national drive-thru coffee brand to a market that already includes Dutch Bros Coffee, Starbucks and Black Rock Coffee Bar, along with over a dozen locally owned coffee stands and cafes.
7 Brew's proposed location along West Main Street is currently in the pre-application stage, meaning the conference is an early step in the city's development review process and does not represent final approval for construction.
