The Clark County Youth Commission is accepting nominations for the 25th annual Clark County Youth Achievement Awards, which will honor up to 300 local youth for their accomplishments across 13 categories.
“Recognition is a powerful way to help young people feel valued and connected to their community. Youth development research demonstrates that having opportunities for positive involvement in the community, and being recognized for that involvement, helps young people be healthy, happy and successful,” the news release stated.
Any Clark County resident aged 11–19 who has demonstrated achievement in one or more categories since Jan. 12, 2024, is eligible for nomination. While youth may be nominated in multiple categories, each honoree will receive only one award.
This year’s award categories include: arts, career development, citizenship, courage, diversifier, education, empathy, environmental stewardship, family life, inspiration, leadership, personal achievement and sportsmanship, the news release stated.
Nominations must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 9.
The awards are organized by the Clark County Youth Commission, a group of 30 youth dedicated to representing the voices of young people in the community.
