Branson, Missouri, singer Tim Hadler returns home to north Clark County for a concert benefitting veterans and the GUMI Camp USA in Cedar Creek, Missouri, which he founded.
Hadler, a graduate of Battle Ground High School in 1990, first took his talents at the age of 20 to Nashville, Tennessee, where two years later, he fulfilled his dream of singing on the Grand Ole Opry stage. After signing a recording contract with a major Nashville producer, he landed two songs on the Music Row Top 100 Songs chart and the invite to move to Branson, Missouri, to continue his career. Hadler has been a Branson entertainer for 24 years and counting, including his “Strait to Branson” act that he will perform in the second half of his concert in Amboy.
Hadler shares two passions: singing and helping others in need.
“It’s been a passion of mine since I was younger to help people through my music,” he said. “So veterans have been kind of my calling to do that. I feel it’s rewarding.”
Hadler has previously returned to his home area of Amboy to perform at Territorial Days and Nick’s Tavern, but he wanted to choose a location for all ages to come and enjoy.
Hadler will don his George Strait tribute act, as well as perform numerous other country songs, at the Mt. Valley Grange Hall, 40107 NE 221st Ave., in Amboy on Friday, April 4, from 8 p.m.-10 p.m. Doors will open at 7 p.m. Admission will cost $20 and proceeds benefit directly to veterans and the Glad U Made It Veterans Resource Center.
“In general, it’s like a relationship with your audience, and so I really enjoy that,” Hadler said on performing. “Specifically on doing George Strait it’s just his music. He chose a lot of great songs, so I just love the choices he made, and to pay tribute to such an amazing artist, it’s pretty awesome.”
Attendees can expect to hear songs from Jelly Roll, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, and even a few requests in the first half of his concert. In the second half, Hadler will come out in full George Strait character, where he will sing songs that include “I Cross My Heart, You Look So Good In Love, The Chair,” and more.
