Over 95 teams show their school spirit at state cheer championships
The University of Washington Huskies cheer squad performs an exhibition at the 2025 Washington Interscholastic Activities Association State Cheer Championships on Saturday, Jan. 25. The Huskies arrived at Battle Ground High School fresh off of their third-place win in the 2025 Division 1A Spirit Program Game Day category at the College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship. The third-place win marked the first medal in program history.

Mascots earned extra cheers as they made appearances throughout the WIAA state cheer championships on Friday, Jan. 24, and Saturday, Jan. 25, at Battle Ground High School. The mascot for the Deer Park Stags brought the energy to the floor with the small cheer squad from Spokane County.
