Those who possess a Washington State Parks Disabled Veteran Lifetime Pass no longer have to pay parking fees at Clark County’s four regional parks.

The Clark County Council recently approved the change to the county’s code and the exemption went into effect on July 29, stated a news release.

To be exempt from the parking fee at county parks, holders of the disabled veterans lifetime pass will be required to present the pass to staff upon entering a park and will need to display it in their parked vehicles.

Clark County charges vehicle parking fees that range from $2 to $8 depending on the type of vehicle at its four parks, which include Frenchman’s Bar Regional Park, Lewisville Regional Park, Salmon Creek Regional Park/Klineline Pond and Vancouver Lake Regional Park.

The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commissioners offers the lifetime disabled veteran pass to residents of the state who are military veterans with 30% or greater service-connected disabilities, stated the release.

Information about the lifetime pass can be found online atparks.wa.gov/1208/Disabled-Veter an-Lifetime-Pass, while details about parking fees at Clark County parks is available at clark.wa.gov/public-works/park ing-fees.
