The self-proclaimed “wing experts” are in the process of opening in an existing Battle Ground building.
On Wednesday, May 27, the city of Battle Ground issued commercial tenant improvement permits for an interior remodel in the retail commercial center at 720 W. Main St. in Battle Ground.
The applicant: WingStop.
The proposed chicken joint location will be 1,391 square feet at 720 W. Main St., Suite 106, located currently between Ichi Teriyaki and Palm Beach Tan.
Architectural plans for the customer experience at WingStop detail a two-station ordering counter, self-serve beverage station and a handful of tables for inside seating, as well as a single restroom.
Currently no “coming soon” location information is available on the company’s website for the Battle Ground proposal.
The approval of tenant improvement permits comes around the same time as the proposed SuperChix fast-food chicken restaurant has landed in the “up-in-the-air” status for a new retail building near the city’s Walmart Supercenter.
Founded in 1994 in Garland, Texas, Wingstop grew from a single restaurant specializing in chicken wings into one of the largest fast-casual chicken chains in the world. The company operates more than 2,300 locations in the United States and is known for its made-to-order chicken wings, tenders and chicken sandwiches paired with a variety of sauces and dry rub seasonings.
Wingstop's menu centers on traditional bone-in wings and boneless wings, with flavors ranging from mild options such as Hawaiian and Garlic Parmesan to spicier offerings like Original Hot, Cajun and Atomic. The chain also serves seasoned fries, vegetable sticks, dips and other side items.
