Prairie High School presents Broadway musical ‘The Prom’

Prairie High School students will perform in their production of the razzle-dazzle Broadway musical, “The Prom,” from Friday, Feb. 28, through Saturday, March 8.

The story centers on four Broadway stars who help a small-town student who wants to take her girlfriend to prom. Their journey sparks a heartfelt and humorous movement for love and acceptance that brings the whole town together.

“The Prom” debuted on Broadway, in New York, in 2018 and has won seven Tony Award nominations, a news release by Prairie High School stated.

“We can’t wait to share this celebration with you,” Claire Verity, Prairie drama’s director, said in the news release. “Join us as we ‘build a prom for everyone!’”



Due to mild language and thematic elements, the play is suitable only for those aged 13 and older with parental guidance, the release stated.

Performances are available at 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 28, Saturday, March 1, Friday, March 7, and Saturday, March 8, at Prairie High School, 11311 NE 119th St., Vancouver. Matinee performances will take place at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 1, and Saturday, March 8.

Tickets are $15 per adult, $13 for seniors and $7 for students. Tickets are available for purchase online at shorturl.at/Xtbp3.
