Prairie softball improves to 4-2 after win against W.F. West High School

After winning three straight to start the year, then losing two in a row on Tuesday, March 25, the Prairie Falcons softball squad corrected the skid with a 10-5 win over W.F. West High School (Chehalis) on Thursday, March 27.

Prairie’s Kayla Scholl went three for five at the plate with three singles and three RBIs in the game. Mackenzie Moore went five for five with two doubles, scoring three times and batting in a run. The Falcons had 16 hits total compared to nine by the Bearcats.

Moore also recorded the win in the circle. She threw five and one-third innings, giving up four hits and two earned runs but striking out 14.



The Falcons held on to a 4-3 lead through four innings and then created some distance from the Bearcats with a five-run fifth inning.

The Prairie Falcons next host the Camas Papermakers on Tuesday, April 8, at 4:30 p.m. They play at Battle Ground High School on Thursday, April 10, at 4:30 p.m. ahead of league play beginning in the 3A Greater St. Helens League the following week.
