The Mountain View Thunder found gold with a floater by Trey Johnson to tie the game, sending the heated league matchup into overtime locked at 59. The Falcons found themselves down 66-65 late in overtime, but could not convert on two separate opportunities to take a final seconds lead.
Prairie Falcons head coach Jimmy Tuominen declined to comment following the loss to the Mountain View Thunder.
Prairie senior forward Carson Morningstar led the Falcons with 26 points, including multiple momentum building dunks.
After the one-point loss to the Mountain View Thunder, the Falcons found themselves in third place in the 3A Greater St. Helens League at 2-1, while Mountain View improved to 3-1 and the Evergreen Plainsmen sat atop at 3-0.
The Prairie Falcons next faced Evergreen High School on Tuesday, Jan. 27, but results were unavailable at press time. The Falcons next travel north to Kelso High School on Friday, Jan. 30, at 7 p.m.
