The City of Ridgefield recently received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for its 2025 budget. This is the eighth year the City has earned the award.
“This achievement reflects the City’s ongoing commitment to transparency, fiscal responsibility and best practices in budget development. The award recognizes Ridgefield’s adherence to nationally recognized guidelines that ensure the budget functions effectively as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide and communication tool,” a news release by the City of Ridgefield stated.
The Distinguished Budget Presentation Award program, established in 1984, is used to encourage state and local governments to prepare budget documents of the highest quality according to guidelines by the National Advisory Council on State Local Budgeting and the GFOA, the GFOA award website stated.
