A crowd gathered at Ridgefield’s Overlook Park on Friday, Nov. 10 to honor Veterans Day with a small event organized by the Ridgefield American Legion Post 44.
Veterans Day was founded to honor and commemorate the end of World War I. It was originally called Armistice Day and was officially recognized as a national holiday in 1938.
