The Ridgefield Lions Club is inviting families to celebrate the season with two free holiday movie showings at the Old Liberty Theater, located at 113 N. Main Ave., Ridgefield.
“The Polar Express” will screen at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19. A showing of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” will follow at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. for both films, a press release by the Ridgefield Lions Club stated.
“This is our club’s way of giving back to the community in a special way and creating memories
for children and families during the holiday season,” Ridgefield Lions President David Schick said in the release. “This is the first year that Ridgefield Lions have sponsored this event.”
Free tickets will be available beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at the Old Liberty Theater. Optional donations of high-quality, non-perishable food or toiletries for the Green Bag program will be accepted at the theater.
During the showings, the theater will offer free popcorn, with additional concessions available for purchase. Attendees are encouraged to wear holiday attire or Christmas pajamas.
