The City of Ridgefield announced that the long-awaited Overlook Park splash pad, located at 113-131 S. Main Ave., is expected to officially open in May 2026 following repairs and a successful test period in October.
The opening was delayed after the city identified unsafe chlorine levels believed to be caused by leaks in the splash pad’s pipe system. All repairs were completed at the contractor’s expense, the City of Ridgefield news release stated.
City crews tested the splash pad throughout October—with help from community members—to confirm the system was functioning safely. Staff reported that the water feature consistently recirculated, treated and sprayed water as designed.
The splash pad has since been winterized. During the off-season, staff will finalize operations plans, complete additional improvements and train employees on maintenance and safety procedures, according to the release.
The city plans to celebrate the splash pad’s official spring opening with a community event.
