The City of Ridgefield will celebrate the 10th anniversary of its popular First Saturdays event series with a Spring Festival packed with family-friendly fun on Saturday, May 3.
Since 2014, First Saturdays have brought the community together with themed activities, live music, local food and artisan vendors. The anniversary celebration will carry on that tradition with a full day of activities across downtown Ridgefield, according to a news release from the city.
The vendor market will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Davis Park, located at located at 337-411 N. Third Ave., Ridgefield. Offerings will include local produce, artisan goods and crafts. Live music from Brenna Larsen will begin at 10:30 a.m.
At 11 a.m., a new public art installation featuring colorful sandhill cranes on the Pioneer Street overpass will be unveiled. A commemorative ceremony will follow at noon at Overlook Park, located at 113-131 S. Main Ave., Ridgefield. A community Talent Showcase, beginning just after the ceremony, will highlight local performers of all ages, the news release stated.
Craft stations, lawn games and the Ridgefield Garden Club’s annual plant sale at Abrams Park, located at 400 Abrams Park Road, Ridgefield, will also be part of the day’s offerings. Artwork by Ridgefield Art Association members will be on display at the plant sale.
