An off-duty Ridgefield police officer was found deceased at the Ridgefield Marina on Monday, Nov. 25, according to a news release by the city.
Officer Colin Triber had been a member of the Ridgefield Police Department (RPD) since January 2024, the city stated. Prior to his service as a police officer, Triber served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a heavy helicopter crew chief and mechanic.
"We are heartbroken. We ask that the public and press give the family and the Ridgefield Police Department the privacy to grieve in this difficult time," Ridgefield Police Chief Cathy Doriot said in the release.
Following standard protocol, the Ridgefield Police Department has turned the investigation over to the Clark County Sheriff's Office. RPD offices will be closed until further notice, however, 24/7 patrol is continuing, the release stated.
