Ridgefield to host Christmas festivities for Hometown Celebration

The city of Ridgefield will twinkle with Christmas lights during its annual Hometown Celebration on Saturday, Dec. 7, featuring a full day of holiday festivities. A full itinerary is available at shorturl.at/esDTu.

Hometown Celebration events are as follows:

Circle of Trees: 9 a.m., Overlook Park, 113-131 S. Main Ave., Ridgefield. The annual Circle of Trees features Christmas trees decorated by local businesses and organizations. A public vote for the best tree will open Saturday, Dec. 7.

Kids Crafts and Activities: 9 a.m.-2 p.m., Ridgefield Administrative and Civic Center Gym, 510 Pioneer St., Ridgefield. The City of Ridgefield and several local organizations will host free kid-friendly activities and crafts, such as carnival games and cookie decorating, for celebration attendees.

Drive and Drop Food Drive: 9 a.m.-2 p.m., View Ridge Middle School, 3215 S. Hillhurst Road, Ridgefield. Bring nonperishable foods, toiletries and cash to donate to the Walk and Knock food drive, hosted by View Ridge Middle School.



Visits with Santa: 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Old Liberty Theater, 115 N. Main Ave., Ridgefield. Get into the Christmas spirit by greeting Santa and taking a free photo to commemorate Hometown Celebration.

Live Music Performances: 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Overlook Park, 113-131 S. Main Ave., Ridgefield. Enjoy live Christmas music performed by the Ridgefield High School choir at 11 a.m., View Ridge and Sunset Middle School choirs at noon and View Ridge Middle School band at 1 p.m.

Ridgefield Tree Lighting: 4:30 p.m., Overlook Park, 113-131 S. Main Ave., Ridgefield. Watch the community come together for the annual lighting of the downtown Christmas Tree, featuring live music and a performance by DanceFusion.

Acoustic Guitar Summit: 7:30 p.m., Old Liberty Theater, 115 N. Main Ave., Ridgefield. Grammy-winning guitarists will perform at a ticketed event, hosted by Old Liberty Theatre. Purchase tickets online at shorturl.at/LjER3.
