The City of Ridgefield recently received recognition for the quality of its drinking water, earning first place in the Best Tasting Water competition hosted by the Lower Columbia subsection of the American Water Works Association (AWWA).

The win qualifies Ridgefield for the regional competition at the AWWA Pacific Northwest Section Conference in Boise, Idaho, May 7 through 9, a news release by the City of Ridgefield stated.

“I’m proud of the high-quality water we provide to our community and the effort our team puts in every day to make that possible,” Interim Water Supervisor Steve Sampson said in the release. “We’ve always believed our water was exceptional, but it was great to see that confirmed in a friendly competition.”

Ridgefield’s drinking water comes from the Troutdale Aquifier, located 130–170 feet below the ground surface, the news release stated.
