Posted

The Windhaven Ride for Veterans second annual event will take place Aug. 26. Proceeds support the Windhaven Veterans Program, which provides equine-assisted therapy to veterans with PTSD free of charge.

The ride for veterans, which includes motorcycles, classic cars and hotrods, will start at the ilani Casino and end at Amboy’s Territorial Park. The event is hosted by the American Legion Tum Tum Post No. 168. Last year’s event raised $10,385, which supported 11 veterans receiving equine therapy, a release by LifeLine Connections stated. The release adds that there are 32,800 veterans in Clark County, 12.9 % of whom may be experiencing PTSD.

Registration, check-in and raffles will begin at 7 a.m., with opening ceremonies at 9 a.m. followed by the escorted ride to Territorial Park at 11 a.m. The Windhaven Veterans Program will give a live demonstration at the Territorial Park in Amboy at noon.
