Shabby Tree Artisan Bazaar to be held at Kiwanis Park

There are many ways people can snag unique gifts for their loved ones this holiday season. One option is the Shabby Tree Artisan Bazaar in Battle Ground, which will feature a collection of artisans who will sell their one-of-a-kind wares on Oct. 29.

Lisa Bowden, the organizer of the event, will be one of the artisans selling her goods at the bazaar.

“This is our second annual bazaar and we call it an artisan bazaar because we only have handmade, handcrafted items,” Bowden said. “Everything is from different artists who do their craft, their art.”

She said there will be a variety of items like home and vintage decor, gnomes, jewelry, homemade bath and body products, honey and candles.

Bowden’s friend Jan Patterson will have a booth where she wil sell her fused glass, along with “one of a kind” Christmas trees, Bowden said. Another friend, Carrole Rude, makes embroidered towels and aprons, which will be available for purchase.

“There’s a fantastic gnome designer. She makes the cutest gnomes that are completely irresistible,” Bowden said. “I make wood home decor, like it’s shabby vintage with wood. There’s a lady who’s going to be there doing embroidered jackets.”

There will be another woman who makes signs and does art on the back of flannel shirts, Bowden said. Danielle Toma will also be there to sell candy holders and homemade cards.

Last year featured a strong turnout, Bowden said.

“Last year, I don’t know if it’s because COVID was just sort of ending or what, but it was absolutely phenomenal,” she said. “Many of the vendors said that it was their one-day highest sales that they ever had in their business. It was just packed, and it was festive and fun, and people just stayed in fellowship because it was so fun to see each other again. A lot of people hadn’t seen each other since the beginning of the pandemic and it was just super, super fun.”

This year’s event has been promoted through social media, word of mouth from the vendors and signs. Bowden hopes the turnout will rival the previous event.

“Everything is so unique and homemade. It’s not just pumped out of a factory. It’s all just very unique, and so everybody just loved pouring over every booth, honestly,” Bowden said about last year’s event.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 29 at Kiwanis Park at 422 SW Second Ave. in Battle Ground. More information about the bazaar can be found online at facebook.com/events/468741098494849?ref=newsfeed.
