In November 2024, site plans were uploaded to the Battle Ground public information portal for a new Firm Foundation Christian High School Campus at the 3100 block of West Main Street.

The proposed project was approved by the Type II land use decision in March of this year; however, no advancements on the project have been made, and there is no information available on the school’s website. The Battle Ground information portal states the Type II land use decision application date was November 15, 2024 and the expiration date is August 8, 2025. Numerous attempts to reach the school’s superintendent, Julie Olson, by phone were made by The Reflector, but she was not in her office and did not respond to an initial voicemail.

The Type II plan review included approving the traffic study, site plans, SEPA checklist and more.

In the project narrative, the applicant, Firm Foundation Christian High School, “is proposing the construction of a new private school on a site located at 3103 W Main St, Battle Ground, WA. The proposed development will consist of an approximately 68,000 square foot school building, along with associated amenities including a track and field with bleachers, sport courts, a soccer field, parking, and several accessory buildings.”

The project encompasses two parcels, totaling approximately 62 acres, with the actual development itself covering just 19 of those acres. The northern portion of the site will host the school and its facilities, while the southern portion is within a conservation easement that includes Mill Creek and wetlands.

The narrative states that the existing two parcels will be adjusted through a Boundary Line Adjustment (BLA), which will shift the existing middle property line to the west, allowing the school to be situated on a single parcel.

“The zoning for the site is Regional Center (RC), and the project will comply with all applicable zoning regulations and standards outlined in the Battle Ground Municipal Code and other relevant guidelines at the time of land use application,” the narrative states.

The narrative, as illustrated in the development plans, states that the vehicle circulation and parking are designed to allow for safe and efficient student drop-off/pick-up, student, visitor, and employee parking, school bus access, and emergency vehicle access, with two connections to West Main Street.

The development plans include a tennis court, football field, track, bleachers, and a concessions stand area, as well as the high school building and two future sites: one for an auditorium and the other for a future workyard and trade school building. The development plan also details the phasing of the project, with access and parking facilities, as well as primary building construction, taking place first.

The Firm Foundation Christian School currently offers preschool through high school at 1819 SW 25th Avenue in Battle Ground.
