Clark County Public Works is preparing to begin improvements on a 1.44-mile segment of Southeast Blair Road, with a full closure planned for part of the roadway through much of the summer.
The project includes repaving the roadway, replacing signs, upgrading guardrails in designated areas and improving the banking, or tilt, of select curves to improve vehicle handling and safety. Crews will also upgrade the bridge rail on the bridge that carries Southeast Blair Road over the Little Washougal River.
As part of the work, crews will remove and reconstruct about 200 feet of deteriorating roadway between Southeast Krohn Road and Southeast Washougal River Road. That portion of Southeast Blair Road must fully close to through traffic during construction.
The closure is expected to begin in early July and continue through August, though start and end dates are approximate and may change.
Clark County Public Works said access to properties within the project area will be maintained, and emergency vehicles will be able to access the area throughout construction. A detour will be in place for through traffic.
Project updates will be posted at clark.wa.gov/public-works/southeast-blair-road
