In July, Battle Ground Rotary Club founding member Stacey Johnson was awarded the highest award in Rotary, the Paul Harris Award.
The award is given to a Rotarian or a member of the community who has made an outstanding contribution to the community. The major donor designation has four different gift levels, and Johnson has achieved Level 2, an email from Johnson stated.
Johnson’s involvement in Rotary was preceded by decades of community and volunteer service, from serving on Advisory boards to developing and running neighborhood associations, as stated in Johnson’s email.
“The generosity of Rotarians such as you is critical to supporting all the work we do locally and around the world,” Battle Ground Rotary president Michael Ernest read at the award ceremony in July. “This places you in a special group of humanitarians committed to peace, health, learning, and community development through the Rotary Foundation.”
Johnson was presented with a Rotary award, a lapel pin and a pendant. Johnson’s daughter, Kiah, was also presented a Paul Harris Award, as well as to Kiah’s husband, AJ Mounsey, both of whom were recognized by Johnson and the club for their adherence to the values of Rotary, Johnson’s email stated.
Johnson is an insurance professional who provides Medicare & Health insurance services through her agency, Your Insurance Gal.
The Battle Ground Rotary Club meets at Galeotti’s Wine Cellar on Wednesdays each week at 5:30 pm.
