The Great Train Show returns to Ridgefield with 200+ tables of vendors

Model railroading, also known as The World's Greatest Hobby, is coming to the Clark County Events Center for another year.

The show welcomes everyone who wants to start the hobby or who is just looking for weekend enjoyment for the family. Those interested can experience life-like diesel, steam and electric trains in the palm of their hands at the show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 11 and Jan. 12 in Ridgefield.

The show is set to feature more than 200 tables of trains and accessories for sale. Enthusiasts and exhibitors from across the country will set up shop right with model engines, rolling stock, DVD’s, scenery and more, along with free workshops and demonstrations. Free test track will be available for buyers and sellers to test out train engines.

The show differs from local swap meets as the event will feature eight working model railroads for everyone to enjoy. Whatever scale enthusiasts desire, a model railroad will be available for enjoyment and inspiration. Model railroads include three HO-scale railroads, two N-scale railroads, one O-gauge railroad, and even an 80-inch-by-100-inch G-scale railroad will be on display. Along with the model railroads, a large 20-foot-by-30-foot Lego railroad will be on display, the Great Northern LEGO Railway. For the kid's interactive enjoyment, a riding train will be available.

Kids aged 11 and under will get free admission, and door admission on Saturday will be $12 for adults, good for both days. Adult admission on Sunday is $11. Door admission will be cash only, but pre-orders are available for online tickets at checkout.eventcreate.com/ridgefield-01-2025/selec-buy

The Clark County Events Center, part of the Clark County Fairgrounds, is located at 17402 NE Delfel Road in Ridgefield.

For people unable to attend the train show in Ridgefield, it will be in Puyallup at the Washington State Fairgrounds the weekend of Jan. 18 and Jan. 19.
