Tigers roar to life as Battle Ground mural nears completion
Muralist Will Sykes outlines whiskers with black spray paint on the third tiger of his mural at Battle Ground Skate & Bike Park on Thursday, July 17. The artist has completed three of five tigers in the “Tiger Pride” piece, which is now past its halfway point.

The left side of the mural at Battle Ground Skate & Bike Park shows three mostly completed tigers surrounded by bright lightning bolts. Will Sykes began work on the city-approved mural July 7, aiming to energize the space with local school spirit and street art flair.

Will Sykes checks his phone while painting whiskers on the third tiger, reviewing the digital sketch he created in Adobe Illustrator. The design was scaled to the dome wall using a hand-drawn “squiggle grid” system for accuracy.
