WSU Extension offers free canner pressure gauge testing

Clark County residents can have their pressure canner gauges tested for free this summer through a program hosted by Washington State University (WSU) Extension.

Testing began Wednesday, June 25, and continues through Sept. 30.

Participants should only bring the canner lid, with the gauge attached. All American brand canners should have the gauge removed for testing, a press release by WSU Extension stated.

Walk-in clinics will be held at the WSU Extension office at The Heritage Farm, located at 1919 NE 78th Street, Vancouver,  Second Mile Food Hub, located at 11819 NE Highway 99, Suite C, Vancouver, and the Battle Ground Wilco Farm Store, located at 815 W. Main St., Battle Ground.

Upcoming testing clinics include:

  • 10-11:30 a.m., Saturday, July 26: Second Mile Food Hub
  • 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 9: Battle Ground Wilco Farm Store
  • 1:30-3 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 19: Second Mile Food Hub
  • 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 26: WSU Extension Office at The Heritage Farm
  • 12-2 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 9: WSU Extension Office at The Heritage Farm
  • 2-4 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 23: WSU Extension Office at The Heritage Farm
  • 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 30: WSU Extension Office at The Heritage Farm
