Hundreds of residents and visitors packed Yacolt on the morning of Saturday, July 4, for the community’s annual Freedom Parade.
Paradegoers waved American flags and wore patriotic attire while gathering along Railroad Avenue and Yacolt Road to celebrate Independence Day and the nation’s 250th anniversary. The annual celebration highlighted Yacolt’s small-town traditions during Rendezvous Days while joining communities across the country commemorating America’s semiquincentennial.
The parade route followed the specially painted red, white and blue centerline striping in the town of Yacolt that began celebrations for America250 in the rural north Clark County community.
