Centenarian Grace Jemison-Martin celebrated her 101st birthday on Saturday, Feb. 10 at Battle Ground’s Mallard Landing Assisted Living facility. Jemison-Martin is an author, having written a book titled “The History of Battle Ground,” which covered the city’s history from its early inception to 1953. Jemison-Martin loves to paint to pass the time. One of her favorite works, “Round Saw,” won the blue ribbon at the Clark County Fair. Jemison-Martin remarked, “Well, I sure never thought I’d live to be this old.”
