Arktana Women’s Clothing and Shoe Boutique will be opening up shop in Ridgefield.
A soft opening is planned for July 6 and a grand opening event is set for July 12.
“Arktana opened in 2014 in the heart of Camas’ business district, focusing on the ‘comfort’ side of fashion,” a press release by Arktana stated.
Since then, Arktana has expanded its product categories to every level of fashion and a second store in Felida. Arktana’s owner, Ann Matthews, said her added locations have been customer recommendations. She said Ridgefield will better serve the Clark County community and beyond. She added her stores draw in customers on “girls trips” from Seattle and Oregon.
Shoppers familiar with Arktana can expect a similar experience and products available at the upcoming Ridgefield location, whereas new customers can expect a wonderful shopping experience in a neighborhood-style boutique.
“Arktana is very established in the county, which has been really wonderful and we pride ourselves first and foremost on customer service and our team of people have been around a long time,” Matthews said. “We have a very veteran sales team and management team, so there’s not going to be a ton of new people. So when they come into Arktana, they will definitely get very, very high caliber service.”
Matthews said that quite a few of her employees are former Nordstrom stylists and are experts in their field.
“The longer people shop with us, we can keep track of what they’ve been buying and really help them expand their wardrobe instead of just selling them single pieces here and there,” Matthews said. “We would be able to add on to something they’ve purchased either a season before or a whole year earlier. We can really help them kind of complete what they’ve been working on so they don’t feel like they have to come in and buy everything all at once.”
For the grand opening slated for noon to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, Matthews has some grand plans that include food and beverages, raffle items, gift bags for the first 100 attendees and possibly a winery vendor.
“We have a really nice branded giveaway package for them with a few little gifts that we sell in the store and then some specialty things that we’ve had made up just for the grand opening,” Matthews said. “Then we also have an entire 6-foot table full of raffle giveaways from all of our vendors. They send us like three pairs of shoes, bottoms, tops, the whole nine yards. And so just for coming, everyone will get a raffle ticket and they can put it in for whatever they want there.”
With Arktana’s space in Ridgefield set to be just over 1,600 square feet, a whole new shopping experience that will be roughly 1,800 square feet will be opening in August right next door to create a “his and hers” boutique experience.
Bigfoot Mountain Outfitters will be a whole new experience for Matthews and her husband Bill.
“So you can get the vibe, it’s very outdoorsy, Pacific Northwest,” Matthews said regarding Bigfoot Mountain Outfitters.
The store will feature a wide range of men’s lifestyle products, including shoes, handbags, accessories, clothing and more.
“I think everybody’s going to really love the brand called True Grit. I think that’s a really exciting one,” Matthews said regarding brands that the men’s store will carry.
A lot of the same brands that Arktana has carried over the years will be found in the men’s store.
