Battle Ground U.S. Army veteran, astronaut and minister Col. Jeffrey Williams will deliver a keynote speech at the 23rd annual Clark County Prayer Breakfast from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at the Hilton Hotel, 301 W. Sixth St., Vancouver.
Williams served in the U.S. Army for 27 years and became a NASA astronaut in 1996. During that time, he logged a record-setting 534 days in space. He retired from NASA’s space program in 2024, a press release by Clark County Prayer Breakfast stated.
Williams currently serves as an elder at Word of Grace Bible Church, l1317 NW 12th Ave., Battle Ground. The church provides services for the Russian-speaking Slavic immigrant community, the press release stated.
Clark County Prayer Breakfast is held annually to express gratitude to community leaders and service members. First responders, active military, veterans and more may attend the breakfast as guests for free.
